We are receiving many support calls and tickets regarding the following 2 issues. We are aware of these issues and have been working on solutions.

First off Internet Explorer 7 is out and many users are upgrading to this new version. Unfortunately there is a change in IE7 that can cause fonts to be rendered larger in IE7 than they were in IE6 and the latest versions of Fire Fox, Safari etc. The larger font size has caused formatting issues for many, many sites on the web. In some cases it is just a matter of larger looking text, for others the larger text has caused overlays etc to the layout of the site. We have identified a solution to this issue that involves testing for IE7 and providing alternative font styles.

If you are experiencing this issue please submit a support ticket through http://billing.intelihosts.com/modernbill/ . The requests will be taken in order and there will be an $85, 1 hour support charge per site to correct this issue.

We are also receiving numerous calls and tickets regarding contact form spam. This is an internet wide dilemma where web bots are finding and filling out forms on websites. This is at best a nuisance and at worst an attempt to hijack sites for malicious purposes. The best defense against these attacks is to make sure your form software is up to date and secure, and to employ anti-spam measures such as hidden fields and captchas.

I want to remind all of our clients that regardless of who handles your website development or hosting, you (the site owner) are responsible for ensuring your site is not used maliciously. You should make an effort to ensure your site is up to date and secure so that you do not become a hijacking victim. Generally speaking, if your site has online forms, e-Commerce or other interactive features and has not been upgraded in a year you are probably vulnerable to attack. Clients with SmartCMX software should invest in a support contract or periodically request an update, at least yearly, to the newest stable SmartCMX version.

Most SmartCMX sites can be upgraded to the latest version for the base cost of $599. If your site has special features that require additional formatting or programming you will be advised before the upgrade is performed. SmartCMX support contract clients receive periodic updates under the terms of the agreement at no additional cost.
